Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin has launched a scheme on Friday to provide dry ration kits to migrant labourers of the state. This is to support these labourers who are struggling over the Covid -19 related issues including lockdowns and loss of jobs.
An official release from the Chief Minister’s office said that the Chief Minister also launched a vaccination drive for construction workers that would benefit over two lakh construction labourers who have been registered as members of the Tamil Nadu construction Labourers Welfare Board in the first phase of vaccination.
The dry ration kit provided by the Tamil Nadu government consists of 15 kg of rice,1 kg of Tur Dal and 1 kg of cooking oil.
Tamil Nadu minister for Medical and Family Welfare, Ma Subramanian, Minister for Labour Welfare and Skill Development, C.V.Ganesan, Rajya Sabha MP, M Shanmugham, Chennai South MP, Thamizhachi Thangapandian and other senior officials were present during the programme held at the Secretariat on Friday.
