Tamil Nadu Chief Minister ,MK Stalin on Thursday launched the vaccination drive for people in the age group of 18-44 at Tiruppur. The programme was conducted at an event in Nethaji Apparel Park.
Around 20 workers from various garment units were selected and vaccinated on the occasion by a team of health officials inside the facility.
The Chief minister also held a detailed discussion with the Tiruppur district collector, K Vijayakarthikeyan on the actions taken in the district to prevent Covid-19. It may be noted that there was a spurge in Covid cases in the district for the past one week.
Several industrialists and businessmen of Tirupur contributed money to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund( CMPRF) for Covid prevention and safety measures.
An amount of Rs 2.6 crore was received as donations and contributions to the CMPRF. An interaction with business leaders did not materialize owing to paucity of time, a communique from the CM’s office said.
Tirupur Exporters Association President Raja M Shanmugham and other prominent industrialists and exporters were present at the function.
