TN Government appoints special officers for two new police commissionerates

The Tamil Nadu government appointed two senior police officers as special officers for the newly formed Tambaram and Avadi police commissionerates.  The order was issued by the state’s additional home secretary, S.K. Prabhakar

M.Ravi a 1991 batch IPS officer and a native of Dindigul and Sanjay Kumar Rathode, a 1992 batch IPS officer from New Delhi are the special officers announced by the State Government. While the former holds a doctorate degree, the latter has MA and Mphil degrees.

The two new commissionerates are formed after trifurcating the Greater Chennai City Police Commissionerate which was announced by the Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin at the Tamil Nadu assembly on September 13.

IG of Police Albin Dinesh Modak would hold the additional in charge of the additional director general of police of the economic offenses wing (EOW. The order states that the Additional Director General of Police, Abhay Kumar Singh stands transferred from the EOW unit.
