TN government to appoint receptionist at every police station , new police commission, online complaint mechanism

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has announced that the government would set up a new State police commission at the state legislative assembly on Monday. The Chief Minister said that the Police Commission is being set up to improve relations between the police and public and to recommend new training methods to policemen and women.

He said that a receptionist will be posted at every police station across the state as well as setting up of boys and girls clubs. The boys and clubs are set up to prevent children from socially and economically backward positions do not get involved in anti-social and illegal activities.

The Chief Minister also said announced in the house that an online complaint filing mechanism would be created.

Stalin said that a mobile-based application for the benefit of the general public to register their complaints with the police would also be created. He also said that experts would be roped in to provide assistance to police in crimes involving banks as well as employment frauds.

The Chief Minister also said that 1132 people who are heirs of dead police personal and waiting for several years would be given appointments on compassionate grounds.

He also said that the online complaint mechanism is being set up to avoid travel to the police stations and also to avoid any waiting time. Stalin said that the mobile-based app would help the general public access the report submitted by the police.

The Chief Minister also said that a special unit will be set up in the Director-General of Police to resolve issues faced by Indian’s living abroad.
