TN government to erect statute of Ki Rajanarayanan in his village

Tamil Nadu Chief minister MK Stalin said on Tuesday that the state government would erect a statue in memory of eminent Tamil writer Ki Rajanarayanan in his native village ,Edaiseval in Tuticorin district.

Ki Rajanarayanan popularly known as Ki Ra who popularized black literature (karisal) world wide passed away at Puducherry on Monday night due to age old illness. He was 98.

The Chief minister also said that the government would renovate Edaiseval Panchayat Union Middle School, where the writer has studied without losing its architectural and heritage values and convert it into a museum in his memory.

The museum will house his rare photographs and his works to enable the public and the students to learn on his literary skills.

Chief minister said that the last rites of the noted writer will be conducted with full state honours on Wednesday.
