Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Villupuram has served a charge sheet against Special Director General of Police, Rajesh Das who is now under suspension and Superintendent of Police , D .Kannan on a case of sexual harassment of a woman Police Superintendent.
The charge sheet was served to the Superintendent of Police D. Kannan for having waylaid and prevent the woman police officer from filing a complaint against the Special DGP, Rajesh Das.
The Crime Branch CID has registered a case against the Special DGP , Rajesh Das under sections 354 A,( sexual harassment), 341( punishment for wrongful restraint) and 506(1) criminal intimidation of Indian Penal Code and Section 4 of the Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act, 2002.
Both the officers Rajesh Das and D Kannan who are now under suspension was presented before the Chief Judicial Magistrate,S Gopinathan who summoned them to appear personally. After serving the charge sheet the case was adjourned to August 16.
The Court served the charge sheet filed by the Tamil Nadu Crime Branch CID as also the First Information Report to both the suspended police officers before adjourning the case to August 16.
