The health department of Union Territory of Puducherry in a statement said that the territory has not reported any Covid 19 related death since October 24.
The territory reported 45 fresh cases at 10 am on Friday and the number of persons recovered from Covid 19 in the last twenty-four hours stands at 52. Test positivity rate(TPR) stood at 1.5%
The number of active cases in the Union Territory is 446 and 362 of these active cases are under home isolation and treatment.
Puducherry headquarters reported the maximum number of fresh cases with 28 cases reporting alone from the headquarters. Mahe area reported 9 cases, Karaikal reported 7 cases and Yanam had 1 Covid 19 cases in the past twenty-four hours.
Headquarters has the maximum number of active cases, 275 followed by Karaikal (93), Mahe ( 72), and Yanam (6). Puducherry health department in the statement said that 19.1 lakh swab samples were tested to date and 16.14 lakh of these samples tested negative.
The department in the statement said that 11.2 lakh Covid 19 vaccines were administered to the beneficiaries of which one dose was administered to 7.25 lakh people while the second dose of vaccine was administered to 3.98 lakh people.
Puducherry Union territory has reported 1.27 lakh cases of which 1.25 lakh people recovered from the disease. The recovery rate was 98.2%.
The Union Territory of Puducherry has been aggressively marketing the importance of vaccines to Covid 19.
