The Union Territory of Puducherry has recorded 1504 fresh Covid -19 cases in the last 24 hours. This takes the total number of overall cases in the Union Territory to 1.56 lakh cases.
This was announced by the Puducherry Director of Health Services, Dr. G. Sriramalu in a statement on Wednesday.
The statement said that the territory has 16298 active cases. 233 patients were treated in hospitals while 16065 remaining patients were being treated at their residences.
The Union territory, according to the Director of Health Services discharged 1597 patients in the last twenty-four hours. The overall recoveries in the UT stand at 1,38,545.
The test positivity rate in the Union Territory was 31.24 percent while the fatality and recovery rates were respectively 1.22 percent and 88.38 percent respectively.
The Director of Health Service in the statement said that 15,27,024 doses of vaccine were administered so far of which 9,19,024 were administered with the first dose of the vaccine while 6,01,919 were inoculated with the second dose of the vaccine. 6081 persons were given booster doses.
Mahe recorded 31 new cases, Yanam 149, Karaikal 264, and Puducherry 1060 fresh cases of the total of 1504 fresh cases, the Director of Health Services in the statement said.
