Aghori Sanyasis’ to be major attraction of ‘Maha Kali Yaga’ in Kerala

A congregation of ‘Aghori Sanyasis’ will participate in the ‘Maha Kali Yagam’ to be held in Thiruvananthapuram from May 6 to May 16 at the ‘Balabadra Temple’.

The Yaga, according to the organizers will have the participation of prominent people in the country including Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and several delegates from both India and abroad.  The organizers said that the Maha Kali Yaga is being held for the prosperity and peace of the society and that it will transform the society for good.

Anand Nair, Chief Coordinator of Mahakali Yaga and All India General Secretary of Mahakal Bhairava Akhada while speaking to IANS said, “ Aghori sanyasis are coming for the first time in South India to participate in the Maha Kali Yaga. The Aghori cult has more than 5000 years of lineage in India. The presence of this Sanyasi group will elevate the Yaga into a different plain.”

Sanyasi groups from across the country are participating in the Maha Kalai Yaga and the Chief Priest of Mookambika temple, Dr. Ramachandra Adiga is the main ‘Acharya’ of the Yaga.

The deity of ‘Pournamikkavu Balabhadra’ temple where the ‘Maha Kali Yaga’ is to be held is, according to local people is the family deity of the ‘Ayi Kings’ that ruled South India.

Anand Nair said that the ‘Maha Kali Yaga’ is being held for the total prosperity and well-being of the society and lakhs of people will participate in the Yaga including Union Ministers, Chief Ministers, and prominent persons from across the country and several foreign countries.

The Chief patron of the ‘Pournamikkavu Balbhadra’ temple and prominent social activist of Thiruvananthapuram, M.S. Bhuvanachandran while speaking to IANS said, “We are expecting lakhs of people to participate in the Maha Kali Yaga to be held from May 6 to May 16. The Yaga is being held for the total prosperity and well-being of the society and as mentioned earlier the Aghori cult of sanyasis is participating for the first time in such a Maha Yaga in South India and this is the main attraction for this Yaga.”
