In a keenly contested match in the Syed Mushtaq Ali tournament ,Kerala lost to Services by 13 runs. This is the first loss of the Kerala team in the tournament which had beaten fancied Karnataka and Haryana teams.
Kerala captain and Indian player Sanju Samson won the toss and put Services to bat. Services scored 149 runs in the twenty overs with Anshul Gupta becoming the top scorer with 39 runs. Opener Ravi Chauhan scored a brisk 22 for Services.
No other Services player could cross 20 runs. However Kerala team allowed 18 extra runs.
Speedsters Vaishakh Chandran took 3 wickets and K.M. Asif took 2 wickets. Sijimon Joseph and Manu Krishnan took one wicket each.
Kerala however was all out for 136 and lost by 13 runs. Sachin Baby top scored for Kerala with 36 runs while skipper Sanju Samson hit a quick fire 26 in 30 balls. No other Kerala player could withstand the Services bowling.
