Chennai, Oct 31 (BPNS)

Puducherry Lieutenant Governor, Tamilisai Sounderarajan has said that bandh is a democratic means  of peaceful protest. She was referring to the bandh announced by the BJP on October 31 against the rising terrorism in Coimbatore and to crush it by an iron hand. The Puducherry Lieutenant Governor was addressing media persons at the Coimbatore International airport on Friday.

She said that even as the person, Jameesha Mubin who was charred to death in the car blast was questioned by NIA in 2019 and was monitored by the agency, Tamil Nadu police could have watched his day to day activities closely.

The Puduchery Lieutenant Governor called upon the Tamil Nadu government to take steps to build confidence among people that they were living in a safe environment. Tamilisai Sounderarajan said that with the NIA taking over the investigation would be totally impartial.

She also called upon the politicians not to use tough language against one another and to felicitate an impartial investigation of the Coimbatore blast case. The Puducherry Lieutenant Governor said that any comments against one another must be done in a civilized manner.

Tamilisai Sounderarajan said that initially the car blast was thought of as a gas cylinder explosion but later on investigation it was clear that there were many factors involved in it.
