AIADMK raise drug cartel ,NEET ,farmer issue  in election campaign to corner DMK

The principal opposition party of Tamil Nadu, All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam(AIADMK ) has taken up the drug cartel issue ,NEET and farmer issue as the focal points during campaigning for the 2024 Lok Sabha polls.

The arrest of DMK NRI cell leader and movie producer, Jaffer Sadik in the Rs 2000 crore drug smuggling case has pushed the DMK to a corner. While the DMK has claimed that it had expelled Jaffer Sadik ,the increasing cases of drug seizure in many parts of Tamil Nadu has pointed the fingers

towards the ruling party and its failure in maintaining the law and order situation in the state.

AIADMK General secretary and former Chief minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K.Palanisami (EPS) has in almost all public functions during electioneering raked up the issue of availability of drugs and the arrest of a DMK functionary in a drug case. The AIADMK is also raising the issue of the failure of the DMK in getting exemption for the students of the state frok National Eligibility cum Entrance Test( NEET) examination. The AIADMK has pointed out that the DMK had during its election campaign for the 2021 assembly elections stated that if the party comes to power in the state it would not allow NEET in the state.

The AIADMK leaders including Edappadi K.Palanisami (EPS) have in their election campaigns speaking about the failure of the DMK government in  getting proper release of Cauvery waters from Karnataka to irrigate the farming districts of the state.

The Opposition party is also highlighting on the hike in power tarrif, increase in property tax rates. The increase in price of diary products is also being taken up as an issue during the AIADMK campaign.

Of the 39 seats in Tamil Nadu ,AIADMK  is contesting in 32 Lok Sabha seats, it’s allies DMDK in 5 seats and 1 seat each to SDPI and 1 seat to Puthiya Tamilagam.
