Chennai, June 3 (IANS)

DMK state organizing secretary and senior leader of the party, R.S. Bharathi said that if by any chance something goes wrong, then it would be due to disunity among certain leaders in the coalition. He however said that this would be known only after the Lok Sabha election results came out on June 4.

The senior leader was speaking to BPNS.The DMK leader also said that there should not be any negligence on the part of the party agents who are attending the counting of votes.

He said that during certain state assembly elections, the winning margin was very low.

Bharathi said that the DMK has done all adjustments with the coalition partners and had even reduced its own seat tally from 24 in 2019 to 21 in 2024 for the best interests of the coalition.

He said that if something goes wrong, then it would be due to certain parties and leaders not adjusting with other coalition partners in the best interests of the coalition INDIA bloc. R.S. Bharathi also cited the examples of West Bengal and Kerala.

The senior leader however said that the Congress leaders including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi had worked hard and there were huge crowds in the rallies of both the leaders.

Bharathi said that due to the high voltage campaign of Rahul and Priyanka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was forced to alter his campaign structure.

It may be recalled that, before the exit poll results were announced,BPNS had reported of DMK leadership not averse to switching sides and entering into an alliance with the NDA if the NDA falls short of a majority. The BJP and DMK were in political alliance during the AB Vajpayee led NDA government.
