Senior BJP leader of Tamil Nadu, Kesava Vinayagam appeared before the state CB-CID officers in connection with the seizure of Rs 3.99 crore from three persons.
There were allegations that the money that was seized during the election campaign was meant for distributing among voters for a senior BJP leader.
When officials had summoned him, Kesava Vinayagam had informed the police that he would appear after the election results were out.
The CB-CID team investigating the case is now questioning the senior BJP leader. So far the investigating team has questioned 15 people in connection with the money seizure.
Kesava Vinayagam had earlier moved the Madras High Court to grant an interim relief from summoning him in the investigation as also to quash the FIR registered in the case regarding the seizure of money.
Justice Saravanan of the Madras High Court refused to grant him interim relief stating that he was a high profile politician and that court cannot grant him a relief.
