Port of Spain will never fade out of the memory of any cricket fan as it was here the Indian cricket team took on the mighty West Indies fast bowling quartet.
1976 Port of Spain, India did what everyone thought was impossible. India Chase down 406 in the fourth innings to beat West Indies by 7 wickets. Both Sunil Gavaskar and Gundappa Vishwanath made magnificent centuries in the chase. While Jimmy Amaranth scored a solid 80 and Brijesh Patel remained not out on 49.
This chase remains a world record till 2003 when West Indies did it against Australia.
