Chennai, Aug 21 (BPNS)

The Dindigul police on Sunday arrested a member of the ruling DMK IT wing for derogatory posts on Hindu gods including Lord Sreekrishna. The arrested Lokesh Karthick is an active worker of the DMK and an activist of its IT wing from Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu.

The BJP Dindigul district IT cell president, K. Bommu Subbaiya had complained to the local police that Lokesh Karthick has been posting derogatory comments on Hindu gods and Hinduism especially Lord Sreekrishna during the Janmashtami period.

Dindigul Town North Police that a case is registered against Lokesh Karthick and an investigation is being conducted.

It may be noted that the BJP and DMK are involved in a war of words with the BJP desperately trying to occupy the opposition space of the AIADMK after internal bickering in that party. BJP Tamil Nadu state president, Annamalai has been at the forefront of criticisms against the Stalin government and the party has decided to take the fight to the DMK at the grass root level across the state.
