The newly elected legislators will take oath on May 11 ,according to the secretary of Tamil Nadu assembly, K Srinivasan. K Pitchandi, Member of Legislative assembly from KIlpennathur was appointed as the pro- term speaker by Governor Bhanwarilal Purohit on Saturday.
Pitchandi will take oath of office on May 10, Monday and will administer the oath to the 233 other MLA’s on Tuesday, May 11.The oath taking ceremony will take place at the third floor of Kalaivanar Arangam in Omandurar government estate.
The election of the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the assembly will be held at 10 am on May 12.
An official release said that the 16th Tamil Nadu assembly has been summoned to meet for its first session at 10am on May 11. The release also said that the elected members must bring their certificate of election and present themselves for the oath taking ceremony.
