A Youth Shameel Ahamed from Ambur in Tamil Nadu suffered burn injuries in his face , shoulders and arm when two motorcycle-borne men hurled acid on him. Following the incident which took place on Wednesday, the youth suffered the attack 4 days prior to his marriage as Shameel Ahamed was to marry a woman from Chennai on 23rd, August, Monday.
He was admitted to a private hospital in Vellore after first aid in Government General Hospital , Ambur.
Shameel Ahamed is a worker in a leather footwear manufacturing company and after work on Wednesday he went to visit his friends and he was attacked by acid by the two men on motorcycle.
The culprits are yet to be identified but police have registered a case under Sec 326 (voluntarily causing grievous injuries by using acid) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
A team of police officers led by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Ambur, N . Saravanan reached the spot and have questioned several local people to get a tip-off on the attackers.
