Kerala Police Top Brass Reshuffled Again; Vimaladitya Named North Zone IG

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The UDF government on Wednesday carried out another reshuffle in the senior ranks of the Kerala Police, transferring and appointing several IPS officers to key positions across the state.

P. Vimaladitya has been appointed Inspector General (IG) of the North Zone. He will continue to serve as the nodal officer for Operation Toofan. K. Karthik, who was serving as Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner, has been posted as Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Kannur Range.

T. Narayanan has been appointed DIG of the Thrissur Range. Narayanan had earlier been posted as Kannur Range DIG but reportedly conveyed his inability to take up the assignment to the State Police Chief. Satheesh Binoy has been appointed IG of the Internal Security Wing.

In city-level changes, Kochi DCP Shahansha has been transferred as DCP, Thiruvananthapuram City, while Arun K. Pavithran has been named the new DCP of Kochi City.

The government has also made several appointments in specialised wings. Juwalapadi Mahesh has been posted as Superintendent of Police (SP), Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau, South Zone. Shahul Hameed, who was serving as Assistant Commissioner of Police in Kottayam, has been appointed SP of the Economic Offences Wing.

Former Palakkad SP Ajith Kumar has been posted as SP in the Police Telecom Wing. M.P. Mohanachandran Nair, who was serving as Crime Branch SP in Kozhikode, has been transferred as Crime Branch SP, Malappuram.

The latest round of transfers is part of the government’s continuing exercise to strengthen police administration and fill key vacancies in senior positions across the state.
