Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 6
Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) on Thursday rolled out an AI-powered WhatsApp ticketing facility as part of its efforts to strengthen digital services and make ticket reservations easier and faster for passengers.
Transport Minister C.P. John inaugurated the facility at a function held at the Symphony Hall of Hotel Mascot in Thiruvananthapuram.
The new system enables passengers to access ticket-booking services through WhatsApp, offering a convenient alternative to conventional online reservation platforms. The initiative uses artificial intelligence to simplify the booking process and is expected to improve accessibility to KSRTC services for passengers across the State.
The facility is part of the transport corporation’s wider digital transformation programme aimed at improving passenger convenience and delivering services through easily accessible technology platforms.
Along with the WhatsApp ticketing facility, the Minister launched several other initiatives aimed at improving KSRTC’s passenger support and logistics operations.
John inaugurated the corporation’s 24×7 customer care toll-free service through the short number 149. The round-the-clock facility will enable passengers to seek assistance and obtain information relating to KSRTC services and operations.
The Minister also launched KSRTC’s revamped courier service. The upgraded system is aimed at improving the transportation of parcels and other consignments by utilising the corporation’s extensive bus network across Kerala.
The programme also recognised employees and units that had delivered outstanding performances. Awards were presented to KSRTC employees selected for their exemplary work at the State level.
An award was also presented to the best-performing KSRTC unit in recognition of its operational efficiency and service performance.
The latest initiatives are expected to strengthen KSRTC’s technology-driven services while improving ticketing, customer assistance and courier operations. The corporation has been increasingly adopting digital solutions as part of efforts to make its services more accessible and passenger-friendly.
