A Constable with the CISF shot himself dead at the Coimbatore International Airport on Tuesday. The deceased is identified as Sahardar from Andhra Pradesh.
He was doing duty at the passenger exit point and had gone to the washroom where he shot himself dead using an AK-47 gun.
On hearing the gunshots other security staff rushed to the washroom and found Sahardar lying in a pool of blood.
He was immediately taken to the Coimbatore Medical College hospital but was declared brought dead.
Peelumedu police have registered a case. Sources in the police told BPNS that on preliminary enquiry it was found that the deceased cop was facing several family issues.
