Kanyakumari, Oct 19
Rotarian Lal Goel, Founder and Charter President of the Rotary Club of Organ Donation International, and Chairman of both the Organ Donation India Foundation and GYAN, undertook a moment of deep meditation at the iconic Swami Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari, seeking spiritual enlightenment to guide his nationwide mission of promoting organ donation awareness.
During his visit, Goel reflected on Swami Vivekananda’s philosophy of service to humanity and drew inspiration to further strengthen his efforts to save lives through organ donation. “True spirituality lies in serving mankind. Organ donation is the highest form of giving—it is life itself,” he said, speaking on his vision to make India more aware and receptive toward organ donation.
Goel was accompanied by his wife, Mrs. Rajni Goel, who joined him in offering prayers at Sri Padhaparai, the sacred spot believed to bear the footprint of Goddess Kanyakumari (Parvati). The couple prayed for divine guidance and continued strength in their humanitarian mission.
The meditation formed part of Goel’s two-day tour across Kerala and Tamil Nadu. A day earlier, he had successfully conducted two organ donation awareness programs in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, which drew wide participation from students, medical professionals, and members of the public.
Following his meditation in Kanyakumari, Rotarian Goel addressed two key meetings — one at the ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC) in Mahendragiri and another at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant (KKNPP) in Tirunelveli. At both venues, he spoke on the importance of building a compassionate society that recognizes organ donation as a noble and life-saving act.
Through his ongoing initiatives under the Organ Donation India Foundation and Rotary, Goel continues to inspire thousands across the country to take a pledge for organ donation, aiming to make India a global model for organ donation awareness and action.
