TN Health Minister rules out spread of Covid -19 Delta plus variant virus in the state

Tamil Nadu health Minister, Ma Subramanian has said that there was no spread of Delta plus variant of Covid -19 virus in state. The state health minister on Wednesday while interacting with media persons at Karur said that some samples were tested for Delta variant but there was no presence of the same.

Minister said, “ The sample of a deceased person from Madurai and nine others were taken a month ago and their contacts have also been tested. However, all of them are safe. There is no spread of Delta plus in the state.”,

Ma Subramanian was in Karur to inspect the Covid -19 management and prevention. He said that Karur was the 36th district he had personally inspected for Covid -19 management and prevention on the directions of Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin.

He also said that steps are being taken to reopen the schools in the state. The state health Minister said that a task force committee and medical experts are for the reopening of schools and added that the Chief Minister would take a decision on the same.

The state health minister has also said that the government is for increasing the number of vaccinations across the state.
