In a tragic incident K . Vinoth Kannan (35) of Coimbatore died when a portion of the house roof collapsed on him. The incident happened in Bharathi Nagar, Third Street during the early hours of Saturday.
Police said that the deceased has been living in a rented house with his wife Sharu (26) two daughters and his father Krishnan for the past eight years.
He was sleeping under the ceiling fan in the central hall of the house when a portion of the roof fell on him at 1.45 am. Vinoth Kannan died on the spot.
Family members came out of the house and informed the neighbours who alerted the police. Ramanathapuram police arrived on the scene and removed the body to the Coimbatore medical college hospital for postmortem.
The deceased Vinoth Kannan was running a small unit making PVC doors for houses and offices.
