The National Investigation Agency (NIA) officers are conducting raids at Tamil Nadu and the Union Territory of Puducherry after receiving information from terror suspects who were arrested earlier. The arrested had, according to NIA officials, deposed that collection of funds for Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has taken place at Chennai and Puducherry.
The raids are being conducted at two places in Tamil Nadu and one place in the Union Territory of Puducherry. The raids commenced in the morning of Thursday, June 9th, and are continuing. According to sources in the premier investigating agency the raids are in connection with the raising of funds for the banned Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) . The raids are conducted at Chennai, Myladuthurai, and Karaikal in Puducherry.
