Conspiracy behind Swapna’s revelations, Police

Additional Director General of Police (ADGP), Vijay Sakhare said that there was conspiracy behind the revelations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and others. The ADGP was speaking to media at the state capital on Thursday.

The case has turned murkier after the Vigilance wing of the Kerala Police arrested ,Swapna’s co-accused , Sarith from the residence on Wednesday. While Swapna charged that Sarith was kidnapped, police maintained that he was taken into custody to question him on the Life Mission case. However Sarith after coming out from the custody of Vigilance police said that the police did not question him regarding Life Mission but instead asked him about who prompted Swapna to make revelations against Chief Minister.

In a related development, Swapna in an anticipatory bail moved in Kerala high court said that she suspects that she would be arrested by the Kerala police regarding a conspirancy case. In the petition, she also mentioned that a person, Shaji Kiran had threatened her with dire consequences if she did not change her statement and compelled her to release a new video statement before the public. She said that he had boasted her that he was closely associated with Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and that he was a director of the business firm of evangelist K.P. Yohannan.

Shaji Kiran however told media persons that he was just a friend of Swapna and had told her that whether she knew about the consequences on her reveleations and asked her to be cautious as a good friend. He denied that he had acted on behalf of the Chief Minister and CPM secretary ,Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.

Swapna Suresh and former Kerala Chief Whip, P.C. George are arraigned in a case on the complaint filed by former minister and left MLA, K.T. Jaleel. However Swapna said that she did not know George and that she had not conspired against any minister or for that matter party leaders.
