Chennai, Nov 13 (BPNS)

The whirlwind visit of Union Home minister and senior leader of BJP, Amit Shah in Chennai and the pep talk he has given to party cadres and leaders have boosted up the state BJP.

The BJP Tamil Nadu state president, K. Annamalai while speaking to reporters said that Amit Shah had asked the party leaders about the development of the party as well as the requirements needed.

Amit Shah, according to BJP leaders has told them that after the demise of two towering leaders of the state and former Chief Ministers, M. Karunanidhi and Dr. J. Jayalalithaa, the field was open in Tamil Nadu and that BJP had a high chance of gaining ground. He had told party cadres and leaders at a brief meeting in party headquarters, Kamalalayam, that once the grass root structure of the party is set up, then it would be easy to catapult the party to the big league.

A senior leader of the BJP who was part of the meeting and privy to developments in state BJP while speaking to BPNS said, “Amit Shah means business. He has a clear road map to success and has the blueprint ready. He is a leader who micromanages party affairs and he asked us to build the party at the grass root level and asked for what all was required for developing the party in Tamil Nadu.”

The leader said that the senior BJP leader had asked the Tamil Nadu leaders to make use of the opportunity of the vacuum in Tamil Nadu state politics after the passing away of Karunanidhi and Jayalalithaa. The state BJP leader adds, “ Amit Shah knows the development happening in Tamil Nadu and he categorically stated that both the Dravidian parties, DMK and AIADMK are not what they were used to be. He had said that DMK was following dynastic politics while AIADMK was almost disintegrated following the group war and other intrinsic issues.”

The national BJP will be concentrating more on the state BJP affairs after the Himachal and Gujarat election results and the party is considering Tamil Nadu as a major opportunity for it to explore.
