Canadian government implemented TN’s Chief Minister’s school breakfast scheme, Udhayanidhi Stalin

Tamil Nadu minister for Sports development and Youth Affairs ,Udhayanidhi Stalin said that the Chief Minister’s school breakfast scheme of the state government was implemented by the Canadian government. He said that this was a victory of the Dravidian model of governance.

The DMK youth wing leader who is also the son of Chief Minister MK Stalin was speaking at an election campaign of the Erode Lok Sabha candidate of the DMK ,KE Prakash at Othakadi in Modakurichi on Tuesday.

He said that the Chief Ministers breakfast scheme was benefiting 18lakh students of Class 1 to 5 in Tamil Nadu. He added that Karnataka and Telengana government’s were also planning to implement the scheme in their states.

Coming out heavily on Prime Minister Narendra Modi ,the young leader said that Modi did not turn up to Tamil Nadu in the past ten years but is frequenting now with an eye on elections.

He said that the Prime Minister who was now speaking about the upliftment of Tamil Nadu and Tamil people did not turn up to the state when the state was reeling under floods.

Udhayanidhi Stalin said that Tamil Nadu was the medical hub of the country and that some of the best doctors in the world were from the state and remarked that many of these renowned doctors had not cleared National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET).

He said ,”Tamil Nadu has the world’s best hospitals and best doctors, who have not taken the NEET,” .

The DMK leader said that the former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu ,M.Karunanidhi had opposed NEET in 2010 and had said that students would not be able to afford lakhs as coaching fee for NEET.

Udhayanidhi said that 22 students of Tamil Nadu had committed suicide in the state after they failed to clear NEET and added that these were all brilliant students but couldn’t clear NEET due to the structured coaching classes.

He said that the DMK had in its election manifesto of 2021 promised that it would exempt the state from NEET and added that Chief Minister Stalin is taking steps for this.
He charged that former Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami had betrayed the people of the State by joining hands with the BJP-led Union government to snatch the rights of the State.

The DMK leader said , “Not only were the rights of our State grabbed, but the education, financial and language rights of many other States also met the same fate,”

The DMK youth wing leader said women had travelled 465 crore times in government buses free of cost and added that the success of this scheme was one of the highlights of the ‘Dravidian model’ of governance.

Udhayanidhi Stalin also said that a total of 1.60 crore applications were received under the Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thittam and added that 1.18 crore applications were cleared.

He said that 1.18 crore women were receiving the basic monthly income of Rs 1000 now and added that after the verification process, all eligible women will receive the assistance in five months.
