Tamil Nadu School education minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi has drawn criticism from all corners after an ICU ambulance was made waiting near a bridge at Kumbakonam in the state. The incident occurred on August 6th.
The minister was traveling with a convoy of 15 vehicles and a policewoman who was on duty prevented the ambulance to pass through till the convoy carrying the minister and his escorts were passing. In a video that went viral, even after the siren of the ambulance was blowing, police did not allow it to pass through until all the vehicles in the minister’s convoy passed through.
The action of the minister has drawn flak and BJP leader Narayanan Thirupathy while speaking to media persons called for Minister Anbil Mahesh to tender his resignation.
Narayanan Thirupathy also called for the Chief Minister to tender an unconditional apology to the people of Tamil Nadu and the people of India. The BJP leader said that stringent action must be taken against the erring officers.
He said that the ambulance was made to wait for the minister’s convoy to move through due to the arrogant nature of the DMK.
