Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K.Stalin has advised the new Civil service recruits to remember the words of former Chief Minister, C.N. Annadurai in their future carrier.
Stalin was addressing a facilitating meeting of the successful candidates of Civil services examination of 2020 at Anna Institute of Management on Friday. Chief Minister said that they should work only for the welfare of the people and added that their main motto should be to uplift the poor and downtrodden and to be socially conscious.
The Chief Minister taking the words of former Chief Minister and DMK founder, late C.N.Annadurai said, “Go to the people, live amongst them, Learn from them, Love them, Live with them, Serve them, Plan with them, Start with what they know, Built with what they have”.
Stalin advised, “Every Civil servant must keep these words in their hearts and remember these words whenever you face challenges”.
The Chief Minister also said that success in the Civil service exam was only a passport and not a traveling ticket and called upon the would-be officers to be fiercely honest and clean in their work.
He said, “You should not forget that you have come from small towns and should not assume that you are part of those ruling and should never misuse government facilities.”
M.K.Stalin also said that the success in the Civil services examination was not only theirs but also of the society and should think that how the training imparted to them could be used in real life.
He also reminded the Civil service recruits that success in the civil services examination was not only to their families but also to the state of Tamil Nadu. He called upon them to get what was due for Tamil Nadu when they sit in high government positions.
State Finance minister PTR Thiagarajan and Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu and other officers were present during the felicitation programme.
