Chennai, Oct 20 (BPNS)
AIADMK leader and former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Edappadi K. Palaniswami has said that the party has filed a police case against the former interim general secretary of the party, V.K. Sasikala. The former Chief Minister while speaking to media persons at Chennai said that the case was filed after the party noticed Sasikala misusing the party flag.
He said that it has been made clear several times that V.K.Sasikala is no longer with the AIADMK. The former Chief Minister also dismissed Sasikala’s claims that she was the party general secretary and said that the Supreme court and the Election Commission of India have already ruled in favour of the present dispensation of the AIADMK.
The former Chief Minister also said that in addition to police case, legal action will also be taken against V.K. Sasikala.
It may be noted that Sasikala had inaugurated the golden jubilee celebrations of AIADMK at the residence of former Chief Minister and AIADMK founder leader, late, M.G. Ramachandran. She had also hoisted the party flag in that function while the party official faction led by Edappadi K. Palaniswami and O. Panneerselvam had conducted a separate function at the party headquarters.
Sasikala had reached the venue in a car in which the AIADMK party flag was fixed and this has provoked the official leadership of the party. After the former Minister’s D. Jayakumar and CVe Shanmugham lashed out against Sasikala over her indulging in party affairs, this is the first time the senior leader of the party, Edappadi K . Palaniswami coming out against V.K. Sasikala.
