The Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) on Monday announced plans to intensify its nationwide campaign for a transparent and credible examination system, extending support to students protesting question paper leaks in competitive and recruitment examinations across several states.
The decision was taken at the organisation’s two-day Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting held in Ernakulam on August 1 and 2. The meeting discussed examination reforms, organisational priorities, student issues and the ABVP’s programmes for the coming year.
Expressing concern over recurring question paper leaks, the ABVP cited examinations conducted by the Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC), Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC), Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC), recruitment examinations in Punjab and similar incidents elsewhere.
The organisation said repeated irregularities had affected the credibility of recruitment processes and caused uncertainty among candidates. It extended support to democratic protests by students demanding accountability and reforms and called upon educationists, student organisations and civil society groups to support efforts towards establishing a merit-based and error-free examination mechanism.
ABVP National General Secretary Dr Virendra Singh Solanki said the organisation would submit detailed recommendations to the Union government’s High-Powered Committee constituted following irregularities surrounding the NEET examination. The proposals would focus on institutional measures to prevent malpractice and strengthen public confidence in examination and recruitment systems.
The CWC also decided to expand ABVP initiatives such as the “Screen Time to Activity Time” campaign and “Vande Mataram @150 Years: Campus to Campus Vande Mataram” programme.
As part of Independence Day programmes, Tiranga rallies, the “Ek Gaanv-Ek Tiranga” campaign and community renditions of Vande Mataram will be organised nationwide.
The ABVP also welcomed Parliament’s passage of the National Honour (Prevention of Insults) Amendment Bill, 2026, granting legal protection to Vande Mataram.
The meeting accorded special organisational focus to Kerala, where ABVP plans to expand its campus campaigns, student outreach and leadership development activities in the coming months.
