A Sri Lankan airlines flight has made an emergency landing at Chennai airport on Friday. The pilot on detecting a snag landed the aircraft safely at the Chennai airport on Friday morning.

The aircraft (UL121) which was bound to Chennai from Colombo developed a technical snag as it was nearing the city. Chennai airport sources told BPNS that immediately after the pilot detected the snag, he communicated with the Air Traffic Control (ATR) and all the emergency protocols were implemented at the runway. Ambulance service and crash tenders were placed on the sides of the runway.

The pilot manoeuvred the aircraft to safe landing. Sources in the Chennai airport told BPNS that the emergency landing did not affect any other services from Chennai.
