Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president and Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay on Monday expanded the party’s Media and Communications Wing, appointing a fresh team of chief, national, State and digital media spokespersons as part of efforts to strengthen its communication network.
The organisational revamp is aimed at improving coordination of the party’s media strategy and widening its engagement across television, print and digital platforms.
TVK Joint General Secretary CTR Nirmalkumar and Deputy General Secretary A. Rajmohan have been appointed Chief Spokespersons. Rajmohan has also been given additional charge as head of the Media and Communications Wing.
S. Ramesh, J. Catherine Pandian and KCT Ananthajith Mahiya have been named coordinators of the wing.
The party has also appointed seven additional Chief Spokespersons, including S.S. Vaigaichelvan, V.P. Kalairajan, C. Mahendran, Y. Jawahar Ali and Va. Pugazhendhi. They will be among the senior representatives tasked with articulating the party’s position on political and policy issues.
Eight National Spokespersons have also been named. They are Felix Gerald, Dr. M. Sathyakumar, S. Veera Vigneshwaran, M.K. Thenmozhi Prasanna, Americai V. Narayanan, A. Sasirekha, Pazha Selvakumar and Vivek Gnanathan.
At the State level, TVK appointed 12 spokespersons, including Mugil Veerappan alias M.K. Sivakumar, M. Gnana Selvin Inbaraj alias MGS Inba, S. Muhammad Ibrahim alias Ravuthar Ibrahim, Jagadeesapandian, P.K. Jayakumar, D. Kandasamy, R.K. Jaleel, A. Devakumar and M. Soundararaja.
TVK has also sought to bolster its digital outreach by appointing Tamilan Rahul Gandhi alias Rahul Gandhi, S. Thyagarajan and Nareshkumar Rajendran as State Digital Media Spokespersons.
The appointments are part of TVK’s continuing organisational expansion and its efforts to establish a coordinated communication structure to present its policies and political positions across conventional and digital media platforms.
