TN announces more restrictions to contain Covid

Chennai, April 24(BPNS)

Tamil Nadu government on Saturday announced more restrictions to control the spread of Covid -19 pandemic. Cinema theaters ,gyms, recreation clubs, all bars ,auditoriums and meeting halls will not be allowed to function from April 26.

Big format halls, shopping complexes and malls are not allowed to function.

Public worship is not allowed in Temples, Mosques, Churches and other religious places. Daily rituals of these places will be conducted by staff with no entry to devotees. Temple events and congregations have already been banned since April 10. Only temple staff are allowed to conduct consecration ceremonies.

Grocery, Vegetable and other outlets are allowed to function following Covid standard protocol. “Grocery and vegetable outlets in malls are not allowed to function. Departmental stores are allowed without air-conditioning but only 50% of customers should be permitted at a time.”

Beauty parlours, Spas, salons, barber shops are not allowed in all corporations or municipalities. Take away service is allowed in restaurants, messes, hotels and tea shops. Door delivery of food in hotels and lodges.

Not more than 50 members are allowed to participate in marriages and only 25 people are allowed in funerals. IT and ITES companies are allowed 50% of employees to work from home.

Sports training academies are not allowed and training is allowed only for national and international tournaments. People coming to  Tamil Nadu from states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Telengana and Kerala should register in http://eregister.tnega.org

No one should travel by standing in private and public transports across the state. Night curfew and Sunday lockdown will continue.
