Former Indian captain, M.S. Dhoni has invested an undisclosed amount in a Tamil Nadu Drone start-up company. He has also agreed to become the brand ambassador of Garuda Aerospace Pvt Ltd is headquartered in Chennai.
Garuda Aerospace is valued at 250 million US dollars and is raising around 30 million US dollars for its expansion plans, the company in a statement said.
The Drone makers are also focusing to scale up its business in 700 districts of the country and to 50 other foreign countries in the coming days.
The founder and CEO of Garuda Aerospace Pvt Ltd, Agnishwar Jayaprakash in a statement said that Dhoni was roped in as the role model of the company as he was his role model and a youth icon. The statement also said that other than this, he was a perfect example of a success story of rural youth.
The company according to its CEO will be utilizing the funds garnered to strengthen the technology capabilities in terms of design, hardware, software, and firmware. The company will also be building AI and MI modules for the drones to make them more intelligent and 100 percent autonomous.
