Kerala CPI-M to fight Governor constitutionally and legally

CPI-M Kerala state secretary and party politburo member, M.V. Govindan has said that the party would go to any extent to fight against the Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan. He said that the party would fight both legally and constitutionally against the Governor. The CPI-M senior leader also said that the party would approach the Supreme Court against the Governor.

He was addressing media persons at the party state headquarters, AKG Centre here on Sunday. The CPI-M leader also said that the party is coordinating other parties for a unified fight against the Governors of the respective states. He said that the DMK was willing to open such a joint opposition front against the Governor. The CPI-M leader said that a Rajbhavan march will be organized against the Governor and national leaders will take part in the meeting.

The CPI-M leader said that the RSS was trying to inculcate communalism in the campuses of Kerala and added that CPI-M will oppose this with full might. M.V. Govindan also said that the controversy regarding the increasing retirement agent of employees of the Public Sector Undertakings of Kerala has come to an end. He said that the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had intervened in the matter and withdrew the suggestion of increasing the retirement age from the present 56 to 60 years.

The CPI-M state secretary said that the backdoor postings in government departments were not in the agenda of the party. He also said that the Thiruvananthapuram corporation Mayor had confirmed to the party that she had not written a letter to the CPI-M Thiruvananthapuram district secretary apprising him of temporary vacancies in the corporation.

He also said that there  was no system of posting party cadres through the backdoor.
