CPPR study predicts neck and neck race in Kerala elections

Centre for Public Policy Research (CPPR),  research think tank has in a study found that Kerala is heading for a photo finish. A post poll survey conducted by the organization across the state found that the state is poised for a photo finish.

The survey ,according to CPPR was conducted between April 10 and 20 in 14 selected constituencies across the state and found that the LDF would get 41.7% votes while the UDF will have 41.6%. The CPPR study also predicted 12.3% vote share to the BJP led NDA.

38% of the voters preferred Pinarayi Vijayan as Chief minister while 31% supported Oomen Chandy to be the Chief minister.

Around 32% voters opined that Sabarimala will have had a high impact in the polls, and 35% were of the opinion that gold smuggling was the prominent issue in the elections.

38% of the respondents in the coastal belts of Kayamkulam and in Kollam districts opined that the deep sea trawling issue had a major impact in the elections. 50% of those who participated in the survey were of the opinion that food kits, free Covid treatment and welfare pensions have had an impact.

9% voted after evaluating the performance of the LDF government while 8% voted based on the performance of the Chief minister.
