Farm equipment manufacturer VST Tillers Tractors Ltd. (VTTL) has commenced work on its ambitious ₹100-crore Global Tech Centre in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, a move aimed at strengthening the company’s research and development capabilities and positioning it at the forefront of next-generation agricultural technology.
The company on Tuesday performed the Bhoomi pooja and groundbreaking ceremony for the facility, which will serve as VST’s primary global hub for advanced engineering, product innovation and technology development. The centre is expected to play a crucial role in accelerating the design and development of future-ready farm machinery for both Indian and international markets.
The upcoming facility will focus on developing advanced tractors, power tillers and farm mechanisation equipment, with particular emphasis on intelligent farming solutions powered by both internal combustion engine (ICE) and electric vehicle (EV) drivetrains. It will also support the company’s efforts in automation, electrification and digital technologies as agriculture increasingly shifts towards smarter and more sustainable practices.
Apart from research and product development, the Global Tech Centre will significantly enhance VST’s testing, validation and engineering capabilities. The company said the facility would help shorten product development cycles, improve technology integration and enable faster responses to customer requirements across different regions of the world. It will also foster collaborations with global technology partners, academic institutions and research organisations to develop innovative agricultural solutions.
Speaking on the occasion, VST Tillers Tractors Managing Director V. T. Ravindra described the project as a landmark investment in the company’s future. He said the new centre would become the cornerstone of VST’s innovation strategy by accelerating the development of proprietary technologies and enabling the company to deliver world-class farm machinery tailored to the evolving needs of modern agriculture.
He added that the investment reflects the company’s long-term vision of building indigenous technological capabilities while strengthening its global competitiveness. The enhanced engineering infrastructure will support the development of sustainable mechanisation solutions that improve farm productivity and efficiency.
