38,500 officials including 4500 micro- observers to involve in counting of Votes on June 4 in TN

Chief Electoral Officer of Tamil Nadu has aid that over 38,500 officials including 4500 micro-observers would be involved in counting of votes in Tamil Nadu for the Lok Sabha elections. The counting of votes for the seven phased elections will be on June 4.

The statement also said that there would be 39 counting centres in the state in 234 rooms and 43 buildings. The Chief Electoral Officer also said that usually 14 tables are placed in a counting room and additional tables would be produced with the permission of Election Commission wherever required.

Counting of votes will commence from 8 am on June 4th with the postal votes being counted initially. Counting in Electronic Voting Machines (EVM)will start from 8.30 am.

The statement also said that each table would be videotaped separately and 3300 tables are to be set up in all the centres.

The election to all the 39 seats of Tamil Nadu was held on April 19, 2024. While the DMK was expecting a landslide winning all the 39 Lok Sabha seats in Tamil Nadu as the party and its allies won 38 of the 39 seats.

While the DMK has put up a brave face that it would win all the Lok Sabha seats from Tamil Nadu, in the grass root the situation is different with the DMK likely to lose a few seats.
