Rajiv Gandhi assassination case :Convict Nalini’s mother expects her daughter to be released soon

After the Supreme Court ordered the release of Rajiv Gandhi assasintation case convict, Perarivalan, the mother of Nalini, another convict expects that her daughter would be released soon.

Speaking to BPNS, Padma Sankaranarayanan, the mother of the convict said that she expects her daughter to be free soon given the Supreme Court release of another co-accused Perarivalan on Wednesday.

Nalini’s mother said, “ After the release of Perarivalan, I am convinced that Nalini will be released soon. Arputhamal , Perarivalan’s mother has gone through a lot of trauma and her relentless struggle and fight for the release of him has helped the final outcome. I expect that Nalini will also be released soon.”

She said that it was the late Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Kalaignar Karunanidhi who had removed the death sentence of Nalini as she had a child. Padma Sankaranarayanan said that she has high hopes on the statement of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, M.K. Stalin that the state government would work for the release of all the other six convicts who are jailed in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case.

She said that she doesn’t have the support system like Perarivalan but added that she is of high hopes that Nalini would be released soon.

Six other convicts are undergoing life sentence in the Rajiv Gandhi assassination case. Nalini ,Murugan, Shanthan, Robert Pious, Jayakumar and Ravichandran are in the prison undergoing life term.
